The “BREIZH AMERIKA COLLECTIVE” initiative brings together innovative musicians from Brittany, France and the United States of America to collaboratively work to create and produce original music, bring awareness to endangered traditions, while developing durable Transatlantic links of cooperation and understanding.
Breizh-Amerika in Breton language means Brittany-America (UNESCO lists Breton language as severely endangered).
A marriage of music, traditions, and culture has been at the heart of the Collective’s project, striving to incite American audience to discover Breton celtic music but also allow musicians to interpret and mix different styles and sounds (Jazz, Celtic, World, Swing, Latin, Folk).
The Breizh Amerika collective will be composed this year by 4 talented and experienced musicians:
Thomas Moisson – accordion
Gweltaz Rialland – Saxophon and bombard
Julien Le Mentec – Piano
Joe Kyle Jr. – Bass
