Small groups, experienced native French-speaking teachers, and dynamic multimedia content make learning French at AFSD enjoyable and interactive. Students can also enrich their learning experience through our multimedia center and cultural program.

Regular classes

Regular French is comprised of 24 hours of instruction, taught over 12 weeks that allows learners to approach the language contextually through varying practical solutions. These courses can be combined with Thematic classes or Private Classes to strengthen specific skills.

Conversation

These courses will help students to broaden their vocabulary, distinguish between nuances of meaning, express their opinions and points of view, make a presentation on a topic of interest to them, summarize and discuss topics using multimedia sources including French TV, internet and published resources, expand their knowledge of French history, culture and society and review points of grammar in context

Thematic classes

These courses are geared for learners eager to improve special skills. They are designed to be taken in support of a regular course.

They are not only aimed at improving the written and spoken language (grammar, vocabulary and linguistic activities from different mediums), but also to reinforce the specific knowledge of students in various fields: pronunciation, literature, culture, cinema, grammar, etc.

Private classes

The Alliance Française provides private one-on-one and semi-private instruction with fully qualified instructors. Start at any time and benefit from flexible scheduling and personalized instruction.

Sessions are available during the day, in the evening or on Saturday for adults, teens and children at all levels of proficiency. Lessons take place at the Alliance Française or at your home/office.
