Our program includes meetings with contemporary authors!
This is an excellent way for you to practice or maintain your French language outside the classroom. The book club is open to all.

Thanks to the Federation of the Alliances Françaises USA, we offer online interviews to meet contemporary authors. These events are open to all and free for members.

From classics to contemporary literature
(re) discover classics of the Francophone literature to ultra contemporary authors. The selection of books is organized by our club coordinator in agreement with the members of the club.

We have the pleasure to welcome authors who share their work and passion with our community.
Daria Samokhina, Book Club coordinator
Daria began learning French in middle school in a city near Moscow, where she was born, and it soon became her passion. After earning her diploma as a teacher of French, she spent two wonderful years in Tours, teaching her native language to high school students while refining her French language skills and enjoying the beautiful Loire Valley region and beyond. She continued her education in the United States with graduate programs in French literature at Notre Dame (MA) and Stanford (Ph.D.). In 2008, she moved to San Diego, where she lives now, sharing her love for the French language, culture, and literature with her students, family, friends, and anyone willing to read books in the French language.
