This exhibition by the Alliance Française of San Diego is open for submissions from artists in various mediums, focusing primarily on 2D artwork and small 3D pieces.

 

Here’s a brief overview:

  • Exhibition Period: December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

  • Submission Requirements: One artwork per artist, maximum width of 18 inches, ready to hang.

  • Drop-off and Pick-up Dates:

    • Drop-off: November 21 and 22

    • Pick-up: February 3 and 4

  • Submission Deadline: November 6, or until capacity is reached.

  • How to Submit: Email culture@afsandiego.org with

    • your name 

    • title of the artwork 

    • dimension (LxWxH) 

    • medium and material

    • if the artwork is for sale or not. If for sale, listing price.

    • a photo of your artwork in jpg, good quality, less than 2 MB. name of the file lastname_titleofartwork

    • your website (if relevant).

  • Insurance: Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork.

  • Sale Commission: 20% commission on sold artworks.

If you plan to submit, make sure to follow the guidelines and apply promptly since submissions close once enough participants are confirmed.

The call is free and open to all members, all ages are welcome.

Exhibition Period

December 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025

The artist(s) agree not to request the return of any artwork, before the end of the agreed exhibition term.

 

Type of Artworks

Any medium in 2D, ready to hang, will be considered. We also have a small space for small-sized 3D artworks.

All artworks must be suitable for public display. The Alliance Française of San Diego reserves the right to decline any artwork it deems offensive or otherwise incompatible with the overall nature and environment of the Alliance.

The artist(s) warrant that the artwork is their original creation and does not violate any copyright, trademark, or similar laws and regulations.

Size and number of artworks

Each artist can submit and exhibit one artwork for this exhibition with a maximum width of 18 inches.

Artwork Installation and Removal 

The artists are responsible for the packing, delivery and removal of the artwork to and from the Alliance Française of San Diego.

The artwork must be ready to hang.

Drop off: November 21 and 22. (opening hours TBC)​

Pick up: February 3 and 4 (opening hours TBC)

If you are not available during these days, someone else can drop or pick up in your name.

Artwork Insurance

The Alliance Française of San Diego does not accept responsibility for the loss, damage, or theft of consigned works during the exhibition. Artist(s) are responsible for arranging their own insurance.

Promotion

The Alliance Française of San Diego will promote the exhibition and reception through its website, newsletter, and social media.  

 

Artwork Sale

The Alliance Française of San Diego retains 20% of the listed selling price of any artwork sold during the exhibition.

The Alliance processes the full payment for artwork sold and distributes the remaining 80% to the artist(s) at the end of the exhibition.

  • your name 

  • title of the artwork 

  • dimension (LxWxH) 

  • medium and material

  • if the artwork is for sale or not. If for sale, listing price.

  • a photo of your artwork in jpg, good quality, less than 2 MB. name of the file lastname_titleofartwork

  • your website (if relevant).

 

We will close submissions as soon as we have enough participants and at the latest on November 6. Apply as soon as possible.
