Program
What is the program of the San Diego French Film Festival 2025?
The Festival runs from May 4 to 7. The opening reception on May 4, followed by the Festival days on May 5 to 7 at at the LOT La Jolla.

In addition to the event open to the general public, The Young Cinephiles' Day is a special gathering for students learning French. It will take place on March 21 and is organized in collaboration with schools in San Diego.


Are the movies with subtitles?
Yes, all the movies presented have English subtitles.

What is included in the gala ticket on May 4?
The gala ticket includes, access to the movies, dinner with two drinks and a party with DJ. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. 

What is included in the Movie Lovers ticket on May 4?
The ticket includes access to the movies only. If you want to attend the party, book a gala ticket.

Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets must be purchased online in advance. No sales will be made on site.

What is the time of registration?
Guests will be able to enter the theater at 4.30 pm.

What is the dress code?
The dress code for the reception is black tie. This means that suits or tuxedos and gowns for ladies are encouraged. Dress up and strike the pose on the red carpet. 
For Movie Lovers who attend the screening only are welcome to dress casually. 

Is there a vegetarian /vegan option for the dinner?
Yes. Some dishes are available for vegetarian and vegan guests.

Can I order food and drinks during the movies?
Yes. The LOT offers a selection of dishes and drinks. You may order them at your seat during the movie for an additional cost. Please note that food and beverages are not included in the price of your ticket and must be purchased separately.
Is there a parking at THE LOT in La Jolla?
The LOT has a small parking under the movie theater. If the parking is full, consider street parking. Be aware that rules vary depending on streets. There are public parkings available nearby.
Can children attend the opening reception? 
The gala event is for 18+ only.
Movie lovers' tickets are open to all. The opening movie En Fanfare is rated G (all public).
Are seats numbered on May 4?
Yes. You will choose your seat when you book your ticket.

What is included in the tickets on Festival Days?
The tickets includes access to the movies and any panel discussion that will be linked to a screening.
On Monday, May 5, join us for a screening followed by a panel with Q&A with movie professionals.


Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets must be purchased online in advance. No sales will be made on-site.

Are seats numbered?
No. Seating is on a first come first serve basis.

What is the dress code?
The dress code is casual chic. Our step and repeat with red carpet will be on site.  Take advantage of it to capture a nice memory!

What is included in the Bundle tickets?
We offer 2 type of Bundle tickets. One includes a ticket for each day of the festival: May 4, 5, 6 and 7.
One is only for Festival days May 5, 6 and 7.

What if I cannot attend the four days of the festival? 
You can purchase tickets for the day(s) of your choice.
What are member prices? 
Member prices are for members of the Alliance Française San Diego with an active membership.

My membership has expired. What should I do?

How many tickets at members' price can I buy with my membership?
Individual members* can purchase one ticket only at members' price per day of the festival.
Family members can purchase up to four tickets at members' price per day of the festival, for members of their household only.

If you purchase a ticket at member price by mistake, we will contact you to adjust the amount.

* Youth, student, senior and military membership is an individual membership.

I have a family membership. Can I get tickets at members' price for a friend?
No. Your membership is for your household only. Your friends can take non-members tickets or become members.

I have an individual* membership. Can I get a ticket at members' price for a family member or a friend?
No. Your membership is personal. Your family and friends can take non-members tickets or become members.

* Youth, student, senior and military membership is an individual membership.

Can I upgrade my membership from individual to family ?
Yes. Please contact us at culture@afsandiego.org to do so.


I made a mistake and bought a ticket at the member price, but I'm not a member. What should I do?
Mistakes happen, we are here to help. You have two options:
1. You can become a member and get benefits all year round :-)
2. Contact culture@afsandiego.org. We will send you a link to modify your ticket and pay only the difference. 
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are nonrefundable but transferable. If you cannot attend, consider inviting a friend to take your place.


Can I change my seat number?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate requests to change seats once your purchase is done. We will consider requests for persons who need a seat reserved for disabled and do our best to help.
Is there an early bird price?
Yes. You can benefit from the early bird price on our ticket platform until Feb 15, 2025
Do I need to present my tickets at the movie theater?
Yes, for quick and easy check-in, please present your ticket on your phone (screenshot a picture of your QR codes that can be found in the confirmation email) or bring your printed ticket as it will get scanned on event day.
