Please read the below terms and conditions for booking a trial class before purchasing.
-
Trial classes are non-refundable or transferable. They must be used within one month (30 days) after purchase.
-
Each student may take a maximum of two (2) trial classes per school year (September to
August)
- Trial classes must be for different classes, meaning a different level and/or theme.
- They are not valid for thematic classes (art and cooking), or camps.
-
Once your class and date are confirmed, attendance is expected. If you are absent, the trial class will be considered
void and cannot be rescheduled or refunded. In the case of a medical reason, a doctor’s certificate may be provided, and we will do our
best to offer a reschedule, subject to availability.
-
If you decide to enroll in the full session after your trial, the trial class will be recalculated at the regular hourly rate in
place and credited toward your session tuition. You will then be charged only the remaining balance—so you pay exactly what enrolled
students pay, no more.
- The placement test coupon does not apply to trial classes.
-
After a trial, to enroll in a full session, students must hold a valid membership; membership purchase is required if not already active.
Late Fees and returned checks:
Please note that “returned checks” or if you fail to make the payment for your class on the due date despite our reminders, you'll be
charged a fee of $25.
If you believe you made a purchase by mistake, please contact us within 24 hours. While we cannot guarantee a refund, we will review each
request individually and may offer a voucher as an alternative. For refunds, a $25 administrative fee applies to cover bank and website
processing costs.
Course Cancellations & Changes: AFSD reserves the right to cancel courses, adjust curriculum, or change
teachers at any time during the session. Courses are typically canceled due to insufficient enrollment, unavailability of an instructor, or
inability to schedule appropriate instructional space. If your course is canceled, you will be notified by telephone or e-mail and given
the option to transfer, receive a credit, or be fully refunded.
Classroom Conduct Policy
Punctuality: Students should arrive on time, as repeated tardiness may disrupt the group. Late arrivals to group or
private classes are not eligible for compensation, refunds, or credits.
To ensure a positive and welcoming environment for all, students and participants are expected to behave respectfully toward teachers,
staff, and classmates at all times. Disruptive behavior—including interrupting lessons, distracting others, or preventing the group from
learning—will not be tolerated. Our classrooms and events are safe spaces: personal attacks, offensive remarks, or discussions of sensitive
topics are not permitted.
Eating and drinking are permitted, but please be mindful of your classmates.
Please note that Adult and Youth group classes are reserved for students only.
Youth classes: For safety and consistency, no adult other than the instructor is permitted in the classroom.
If a student requires the support of a caregiver due to special needs, please contact us in advance so we can arrange the necessary
background checks.
Students and participants must also maintain appropriate health and hygiene standards, including wearing clean clothing and practicing good
personal care, so that everyone can learn and participate comfortably.
Contagious Illness: For both adults and children, anyone with a contagious illness should remain at home until fully recovered, for their
own well-being and out of respect for others.
Personal Belongings: Students are responsible for their own belongings. The Alliance is not liable for lost or stolen items. A lost and
found is available—please contact us if you believe you left something behind.
These rules apply to all classes, workshops, and events organized by the Alliance Française de San Diego. Failure to follow these
guidelines may result in dismissal from the activity. The Alliance also reserves the right to refuse enrollment or access to events to any
person who does not respect these standards.
